The Genes and Environment SIG is a multidisciplinary network of academic and health care professionals with interest and expertise in the interplay of genetic and environmental factors in the etiology of eating disorders

Our Goals

  • Educate clinicians, researchers, & the public about current findings pertaining to genetic and environmental risk factors for eating disorders and related conditions
  • Develop greater unity among researchers and clinicians interested in the genetics of eating disorders
  • Pave the way for novel collaborations and a transdisciplinary team-based approach to scientific discovery
  • Educate the broader AED community regarding the role played by both genes and environment in the etiology, prevention, maintenance and treatment of eating disorders
  • Foster research collaboration among members
